At the initial consultation, PWW team members and the author(s) work together to determine:

• If the project fits within the scope and mission of Publishing Without Walls
• The author’s priorities for the project
• The author’s target audience for the publication
• The content type and scope of the project
• Necessary digital features of the project (e.g. streaming video, photographs, maps, etc.)
• Which publishing platform(s) might best fit the needs the author and the project
• A rough timeline for the project and if the author has secured additional funding
• Publication design elements
• If the author needs help identifying potential reviewers.
• Possible strategies for marketing the publication
