Please refer digitization and access requests from patrons that fall into the following categories to reflib@library.illinois.edu and notify Wendy Gregory.  Wendy will submit these to the Preservation staff for digital reformatting, who will then scan and upload them to the Internet Archive.

Before forwarding the request to Reflib, try searching for the item in:

Items that are eligible for digital reformatting include titles published in the U.S., falling within the public domain, (as of January 1, 2023, items published in 1927 or earlier) such as:

  • Public domain titles in HathiTrust that are inaccessible to patrons outside the U.S.
  • Public domain titles that have not been digitized yet
  • Public domain titles that have been digitized, but some pages are illegible, or fold out maps/diagrams were scanned folded up
  • Most U.S. government documents not available otherwise
  • Some titles published outside the U.S. and within the U.S. public domain date range
