CARLI-owned ebooks from ProQuest's Ebook Central each have a set number of 7-day loans per year (usually 35; based on the day of actual purchase). On the purchase date anniversary, the set number of loan days will begin again. If loans were available, the user would then be prompted to borrow the book; if the loan days have been exceeded, they can only view the book for 5 minutes.

Here is a screen capture a CARLI ebook, highlighted where one would look in the record to see if it’s a CARLI ebook:

catalog record for a CARLI ebook showing where you can find that information: just see if it has CARLI in the link out to the ebook

Check to see if we have the book electronically via another vendor, and, of course, if we have it in print/available in I-Share.

Lastly, please be aware that if Proquest has dropped the book or the publisher’s contract with Proquest changed, the book might not be renewed on its purchase anniversary.
