Formerly, free online access to the USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times supported by a student fee and managed by Student Affairs, was available to University of Illinois students through the Collegiate Readership Program; however, after a student vote to eliminate the fees that supported it, that program ceased as of June 30, 2025.
